Transversals

Transversals and interior and exterior angles

TermDefinition
Same Side Interior Angles Angles that are on located on the same side of the transversal and the inside of the parallel lines.
Same Side Exterior Angles Angles that are on the same side of the transversal and the outside of the parallel lines.
Alternate Interior Angles Angles that are on opposite sides of the transversal and are on the interior of the parallel lines.
Alternate Exterior Angles Angles that are on opposite sides of the transversal and the outside of the parallel lines.
Transversals A line that intersects parallel lines and creates specific angle pairs.
Congruent Angles that are the same.
Vertical Angles Angles that are across from each other and touching.
Linear Pair Angles that are side by side and create a line.
Supplementary Angles Angles that degrees add up to equal 180.
180 Degrees Linear pair and Supplementary Angles
Parallel Lines Two lines that never intersect.
Obtuse An angle larger than 90 degrees.
Acute An angle less than 90 degrees.
Corresponding Angles Angles that have the same measurement and are in the same position on the transversal.
